What is Cardiac Catheterization? Cardiologists use cardiac catheterization as a medical procedure to examine the functioning of heart of the patient to diagnose any cardiovascular condition. A catheter, a term coined for a long narrow tube, is inserted in the patient's neck, groin or arm artery or vein, through the blood vessel to reach the heart.
